HAT BURNING WORKSHOP

What a fantastic night at our Fall Hat Burning Workshop!

There is something truly special about gathering around a creative table, picking up a new tool, and turning a plain canvas into a personalized piece of wearable art. That energy was in full force during our recent Custom Hat Burning Workshop, and we are still riding the high from such an inspiring evening!

From the moment our attendees walked through the doors, the room was buzzing with excitement, warm conversation, and fantastic vibes. Whether everyone came in with a detailed design concept or was trying hat burning for the very first time, the creative focus in the room was electric.

Turning Sparks Into Art

Hat burning (or wood-burning on wool felt) takes a mix of patience, steady hands, and imagination. Attendees learned how to safely handle the burning tools, trace and freehand intricate patterns, and use heat to etch permanent designs right into the felt brim and crown.

From delicate botanical vines and floral bouquets to bold, rustic line work and geometric borders, no two hats turned out alike. Every single piece was a reflection of the maker's personal style.

Once the burning was complete, the real fun began with styling:

Textured Ribbons & Leather: Wrapping crowns with rich textures to anchor the design.
Botanicals & Feathers: Tucking in dried florals, greenery, and accent feathers for a bohemian touch.
Charms & Accent Details: Adding jewels and subtle touches to finish off each piece.

Seeing the transformational "before and after" moments as everyone placed their custom hats on their heads was easily the highlight of the night.

Beyond the incredible art, what made the night so memorable was the community. Workshops like these are built on good people coming together to try something new, share stories, and encourage one another's creativity.

COZY WINTER CRAFTING

While we often associate hearts with a single season, these Heart Wreaths are a perfect year-round way to unwind and relax. The heart shape serves as a symbol of self-love and community, and filling it with patterns allows your mind to go into a state of "flow."

How to Create Your Own:

All you need is a cardboard or a sturdy paper heart wreath base, any decorative items you have around like tissue paper, stickers, yarn, wrapping paper or fabric.

First cut out your heart, either draw it out with pencil or use a stencil but it does not have to be perfect. Then you can section off the heart and embellish each section with a different material or you can slowly add embellishments in a pattern around the heart with the different materials. At the end fill in small details for that extra touch of whimsy.

CRAFTING FOR FALL

Check out the incredible Zentangle pumpkins from our Crafty Ladies Night! Our talented group created some truly stunning pieces. We had a fun night catching up with each other, sipping on chocolatey drinks and enjoying some delicious comfort food. We really got into our pumpkins and were able to unwind.

Whether you're a Halloween enthusiast or just love the cozy vibes of autumn, this creative activity is perfect for everyone! The Zentangle artform is meditative and calming, creating art through structured patterns, we applied it to a craft pumpkin.

One attendee, Tonisha B. beautifully captured the essence of the evening:

“Crafty Ladies Night” was exactly what my soul needed — laughter, creativity, and connection all in one space. There’s something so special about being surrounded by women who uplift each other while creating something beautiful. Studio Art 101 made it easy to unwind and tap into pure joy.
