Taming the Mane: Why We’re Bringing "Big Hair" Energy to Studio Art 101

If you have thick hair—or if, like me, you’re raising a daughter who inherited that same thick, beautiful volume—you know the struggle. We’ve all been there: buying those "standard" hair ties that snap after two uses, or worse, the ones that get so tangled in our hair that we practically have to perform surgery to get them out.

I grew tired of the boring, basic hair accessories that either didn't hold our hair or disappeared into the background. I wanted something that wasn't just functional, but fun. I wanted accessories that embraced the texture and volume we have rather than trying to hide it.

That’s exactly why I started creating our oversized, thick-knit scrunchies.

• Colors & Textures That Pop: I’m a firm believer that your hair accessory shouldn't be an afterthought—it should be an outfit topper. I love working with vibrant, saturated colors and interesting, tactile yarns that stand out from the typical, plain elastic bands you find in the drugstore.
